I had the privilege to design and illustrate the new look for the mobile library truck for the city of Tampere. The goal was to have something fantastical, incredible and adventurous. And of course something inviting people to visit and preferably grab some books! The city asked 4th graders what kind of a library they would want, and many had some space and fantasy themes, so that was the base for the designs. I was given basically free hands with this, and it was such a joy to illustrate. Lots of galaxies, creatures, fantasy and books! The new library was revealed in the beginning of 2021 and it has had a wonderful reception from the public. I only hope it'll inspire people to have more imaginative adventures with books for years to come.
This mobile library truck was voted for the best mobile library in 2022! WOO!
